Gear Play

These terms apply to the use of Gear Play (“the app”), published by Gear Studio. Gear Studio is not a company: it is the name under which one individual makes apps as a hobby, in their free time. Using the app means accepting these terms. The terms of the store the app was downloaded from (App Store or Google Play) also apply.
Use of the app
The app is free. Players receive a personal, non-transferable right to use it for their own entertainment. Copying, reselling, reverse engineering or misusing the app, and attempting to access other players’ data, are not allowed.
Accounts
The app can be used without an account, or with an account linked to an email address. Each player is responsible for the activity on their account. Suspected misuse of an account can be reported by email.
Respect between players
Usernames and avatars are visible to friends and to players who search for them. Names that are offensive, hateful, sexual or that impersonate someone are not allowed. Accounts that break this rule, or that cheat in games or leaderboards, may be renamed or removed.
Games and content
The games, the AI, the trophies, the drawings, the sounds chosen for the app and the Gear Play name belong to Gear Studio or are used under their licence. Free music and sounds from Pixabay and Kenney are credited in the app’s files.
Availability
The app is a free hobby project made by one person. Its availability, updates and absence of errors cannot be guaranteed. The app or any feature may be changed, paused or stopped at any time, with or without notice. Online games, ratings and trophies may be reset if needed to fix a problem.
Liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gear Studio is not liable for any damage or loss of any kind resulting from the use of the app or from being unable to use it. This includes, for example, loss of games, ratings or trophies, interruptions and bugs.
If any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount paid for the app, which is zero.
Some laws do not allow these exclusions. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law grants and that cannot be waived.
End of use
Players can stop using the app at any time and ask for their account to be deleted by email (a button in the app is coming). An account that seriously breaks these terms may be suspended.
Privacy
The handling of personal data is described in the privacy policy.
Changes
Any update to these terms changes the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the new terms.
